Well done for last night!! It felt like quite an epic moment to be launching Blackbirds into the world and it looks like it is going to be quite a special week…

There were a few people who came to see the show last night who had grown up in the area – I chatted to them briefly beforehand and showed them the remembrance map. They were looking for their names of their relatives, it must be incredibly moving for them. I was watching them as they watched the show and between each scene they were talking to each other – most likely reflecting on their own experiences of the time. One of the ladies seemed to be mouthing the words to Cruising Down the River!

We have a few of our interviewees in tonight – Alfie (the singer of the Bermondsey Boys), Reeny and Eileen. They are very much looking forward to it.
