Our Older Adults Touring Company Return for A Second Tour
Retired racing driver Archie has kept himself to himself since his wife mysteriously disappeared 18 years ago. When a surprise visitor delivers some unexpected news, he goes on a journey and confronts some difficult memories along the way. Will he learn to let go?
After a great first run last November, our Older Adults Touring Company returned to share their poignant new play about family, love and the power of self-reflection, ‘Beneath the Papers’.
older adults' TOUR
Devised from scratch and expertly led by London Bubble Theatre Professionals, our talented cast took their theatre to sheltered housing, an alms house, a care home, a conference and opened their show to the public for a free performance at Canada Water Theatre.
- Pedworth Retirement housing
- Rose Court Care Home
- Canada Water Theatre
- Trinity Hospital – Garden and Riverside Almshouses,
- PSI Conference Senate House, University of London
The performance at Canada Water Theatre was followed by a Cast & Creatives Q&A where they shared their devising process and explored how some of the key themes in the play reflect real lives.

[The play] touched my heart.
– Naima Ali, Mayor of Southwark
[They] delivered [their] performance in a great simplicity that was compelling and allowed us to think of so many complex realities. [They] toughed a human core that is why [their] performance was so emotional and relatable. Thank you <3
