The Line Up
Mark the following dates below in your calendars for the next six weeks, and join us at London Bubble Theatre to celebrate creative work of these young theatre makers.
‘Crowded Table’ is an exploration of kitchen spaces as the centre of one person’s life. Friends, family, and food are the backbone of a story about discovering what it means to call somewhere home.
When nine-year-old Cleo is bullied for not talking at another overly loud family dinner, she decides she’s had enough. She will overcome her otherwordiness by taking on the keeper of all language herself – a hideous troll called Mothertongue.
‘Mothertongue’ is a family show for a neurodivergent audience, involving puppetry, sensory-focused design and dance.
‘ADEY ኣደይ’ is a one-woman play that takes its audience through themes of womanhood, culture, self-expression and Eritrean identity. It uses a combination of poetry, movement and dance to elevate these themes and asks members of the Eritrean and Ethiopian diaspora to celebrate and cherish their roots.
“CAMPitalism: Three Gays Try To Fix The Economy” is a TED X Talk meets a drag brunch meets an Ianucci style social satire about the economy. Join three queers battle bureaucracy and expose the absurdity of the current economic system, in an earnest attempt to understand and demystify finance, trying to answer the eternal question “why can’t we just print more money?”.
A touching tale about a South Asian father who navigates life in the UK whilst learning to establish a connection with his neurodivergent son. Join his family around the dinner table as they explore the complexity of fatherhood, immigration, love and acceptance.
By entering into the distorted reality and hallucinogenic world of his friend’s mind, one character takes an uneducated guess on how to help them heal. Together they face the incoming challenges whilst new challenges arise.
