in celebration of 10 years of bubble's older adults programme
On June 1st 2023, our community of Older Adults took over London Bubble’s social media and Head Quarters to showcase their creative offerings. The day included performances from London Bubble’s Over 55s drama groups, a Tea Break Theatre workshop demonstration and activities in The Rotherhithe Shed. After that, a delicious Afro-Caribbean lunch was served then we rounded up the day with a rehearsal room party; complete with a DJ, dancing and games.
PERFORMANCES and activities
- Guests were invited to participate in the Tea Break Theatre demonstration, held by our Harry Lambourn group.
- Our Friday Tea Break Theatre group performed their play Financial Times which explored the cost of living crisis, money and power.
- Guests were invited to drop into The Rotherhithe Shed anytime of the day to create a small token of remembrance, look at illustrations of sheddists stories, and listen to audio of their memories of health and safety in the work place, and how it’s changed over the years.
- The other Tea Break Theatre group performed their piece Looser Women: a chat show featuring a handful of trailblazing women throughout history.
- Guests had the chance to do the Harry Lambourn Treasure Hunt which led them on a mini discovery adventure around the building.
