Bubble took it’s promenade production of Gulliver’s Travels to parks across London in July and August 2001.
The show toured to Valentine’s Park, Ilford, Waterlow Park, Highgate, Brockwell Park, Oxleas Woods, Gunnersbury Park, Chiswick and Dulwich Park.
The multi-layered story of Gulliver’s Travels was perfectly suited to open-air promenade, as the audience follows Gulliver to the four strange lands of Lilliput, Brobdingnag, Laputa and the land of the of the Houyhnhnms and Yahoos. The production captured both the satirical aspects of the original novel, and the humour that has made the story so popular with children over the years.
Adaptation by Farhana Sheikh, directed by David Baird, designed by Janis Hart and music by Thomas Johnson.
The cast included Michael Breakey, Linda Dobell, Rachel Essex, Peter Glancy, Clive Llewellyn, Ben Oldfield, Joe Townsend and Yasmin Wilde.
