Rotherhithe Shed Celebratory Social
Mon 13 June | 6pm
The idea of the Rotherhithe Shed was born exactly two years ago. In June 2014 we invited people to whittle and ponder on the theme Making
Is Connecting. Two summers on it is time to celebrate the success of what has become known as The Rotherhithe Shed.
Join us for a hands-on tour of and view a premiere of the short film made to mark the achievements of the Sheddists. Whittling will be available and food and drinks will be served.

Unhappy children, unhappy adults

A playful and thoughtful afternoon followed by a showing of a short film demonstrating the work of the Speech Bubble’s project for children identified with communication needs in primary schools.

Making Vernacular Theatre: a conversation
Thu 16 June | 4.30-6pm
London Bubble run intergenerational performances involving people from all walks of life. We call the genre vernacular theatre. You’re invited to an open conversation with specialist and volunteer artists, including director Jonathan Petherbridge, about how we best make and talk about this sort of work. The underlying values, the five stage process, the artistic outcome.

Film screenings of Grandchildren of Hiroshima & After Hiroshima
Thu 16 June | 7-9pm
Film screenings of two ‘vernacular’ London Bubble theatre productions, created to mark the 70th anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima & Nagasaki and the responses to them in the UK.
Grandchildren of Hiroshima, performed in Hiroshima in August 2015 and After Hiroshima, performed in Southwark in March 2016.

We need to act on
Fri 17 June | 1-4pm
What do you think we need to act on right now? Bubble’s Young Theatre Makers help you to create instant forum theatre pieces tackling whatever we feel the most urgent issues are.
You’re invited to share best practice for engaging vulnerable and hard to reach young people in creative participation and to discuss how this may impact upon their wellbeing at the time and in the long term.
