Bubble's Monday night youth theatre have been working as part of the National Theatre Connections programme. This weekend they will be performing 'A Shop Selling Speech' for the first time.
Each year the National Theatre invites ten writers to create new plays for young people to perform. This spring 230 youth theatre companies will present the premieres of these plays in venues across the country, including Bubble.
Each company performs their play on their home turf, as well as at one of 26 Connections festivals in professional theatres across the country.
Ten companies will go on to perform at the National Theatre.
Our youth theatre group have been developing their production of
'A Shop Selling Speech' by Sabrina Mahfouz.
There a robbery in a newly opened shop in Cairo, Egypt.
What's being stolen? Speech. Can the robbers succeed?
Can the staff stop them? Should they be stopped?
